FDC/aerofilter Receives AS350 B3 IBF System STC - Homeland Security to Become Inaugural Customer

Houston, Texas, February 25, 2008 – IBF industry leader FDC/aerofilter announced today that its filtration system for the dual-hydraulic system AS350 B3 has been granted FAA STC approval. Eurocopter adapted the cowling system from the EC130 B4 for the dual-hydraulic AS350 B3, making it a logical choice for FDC to likewise adapt the company's approved EC130 filtration system and cowling interface to the aircraft. The new installation only raises the overall height of the cowling 4 inches.
FDC president Andrew Rowen is particularly enthusiastic about the latest approval, mostly because of the aircraft's first customer. "The inaugural customer for the B3 is the Department of Homeland Security, who will be working in some of the most demanding operating conditions in the world, patrolling the US Southern border" says Rowen. "Our filter made a night and day difference for the US Border Patrol, who were operating in the same desert environment and only getting a few hundred hours before their engines were unserviceable. Our product extended the service life of their engines three to five times longer, which saved them an enormous amount of money and downtime. Homeland Security will likely enjoy the same cost savings, maintenance benefits, and increased flight safety."
